as someone who has been in a crash I can make an informed comment that you often do NOT have enough TIME to react regardless of whether or not you have done a defensive driving course, in fact it could potentially heighten the impact of the car crash.

As someone who has been in 3 car crashes (1 as a driver), done a defensive driving course and been driving for 8 years including two winter seasons in Colorado I can make an informed comment that EXPERIENCE can help you INSTINCTIVELY react in an unexpected situation.

My point however was that you should be aware of the situation around you so you can react to hazards (such as an allegedly drunk and speeding driving attempting to overtake you) before they occur. This is why it is called defensive driving.

Anyway, where on the back of your car did he hit you?

There's also the possibility your tailights were out on that side and he couldn't judge your car properly or it was just a mistake... He wasn't necessarily drunk as far as you have shown us...
I'm starting to get confused Oh No! (Psy! Psy!)

Yeah come on people, the incident was not cluedup's fault. She was taken from behind by some guy against her will. He rammed her up the rear. There's no way she could have seen him cumming.

You Marc Ellis joke stealing guy.

What Marc Ellis joke was this?

It was on Sports Cafe, it was amusing.

I don't know he was drunk but the people who were first on the scene said they had been followed by the guy who ended up hitting me and that he had been swerving all over the place and speeding. he hit the side of my car, the back side. As I said, there was nothing I could do and anything I did do would have only made the crash way worse than it was.

The tail lights were NOT out in my car, I regularly checked them.

Then dont say he's drunk dude if you cant prove it. I know people who swerve over the road too, and people tend to exaggerate a lot after crashes its basic human nature.

I have exaggerated nothing about my car crash. I am merely retelling the facts. I didn't scream in the crash or anything, in fact it didn't really hit me till I'd been in a car crash till several hours later. But I DID think I was going to die while the car crash was happening and that was what terrified me heaps and still thinking about it terrifies me, in fact, the fact a crash could happen so easily is why I never drove till last year.

So he hit you on the back side, probably causing the car to start fishtailing. Was it the back left or right? And what happened after he hit you? You've said you did nothing so I assume you just let go of the wheel, took your feet off the pedals and braced for impact?

I didn't report it to the police, the witnesses contact fire, ambulance and the police. The police were the most helpful (they rescued my cellphone and cigarettes and yes, that is what I was focusing on after the crash).

I don't remember. I remember seeing the light in my side mirror as the car hit the back right side of my car and then I remember flying 25 metres, being terrified and thinking "not again, not another car, please let my pretty car be okay, please god let me be okay". I remember hitting the tree and being relieved to be alive, uninjured and then I remember checking to see if my fully licensed passenger was okay and then after that thinking "shit we've got to get out of here".

I dont' remember the air bags coming up so it is entirely plausible that I blacked out, I have no idea what happened directly after my car was hit and I don't want to, it's bad enough remembering what I've said here coz as I said, I was terrified I was going to die.

the bit where the rear right light has had a chunk taken out is where I was hit. it's kind of hard seeing that picture, mods can we please have that removed?

No, I paid $4800 for that, plus interest and it is a European car and that was a bloody good price.
